OUR PASTORS

Our church is led by a plurality of elders. Some elders are paid by the church to devote themselves more fully to the work of the ministry and others serve in a volunteer capacity teaching God's word, shepherding God's people, and overseeing the affairs of the church.

Brandon Langley

Pastor

Brandon Langley and his wife Anne Marie have been serving the St. Rose Community since January of 2016. Brandon was sent out of FBC Kenner to start a new Gospel work in St. Rose. As of October of 2017, they became parents of their first-born son, Owen Nehemiah Langley. Brandon has received his B.A. in Christian Studies from Truett-McConnell University and his M.Div. from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He has a passion for the preaching of God’s Word, the shepherding of God’s church, and the raising up of future ministry leaders. He serves as a full-time staff pastor of  St. Rose Community Church.

Austin DeArmond

Pastor

Austin DeArmond and his wife Valerie moved to St. Rose in the summer of 2016 and have been faithfully serving St. Rose Community Church ever since. After a year of service as a faithful church member, Austin was found to meet the Biblical qualifications of an elder and was called by God and affirmed by our local congregation to serve as one of the pastors.  Austin received his B.A. from Southeastern Bible College and his M.A. in Theology from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Austin works full time as the campus pastor and teacher for Crescent City Christian School in addition to his volunteer pastoral ministry at St. Rose Community Church. In March 2018, the DeAmonds adopted their precious little girl, Addison.

OUR MINISTRY STAFF

Drew O'Neal

Worship Leader

Drew O’Neal and his wife Bethany have been serving at St. Rose Community Church since December of 2017.  They married on May 27, 2017, and moved to the New Orleans area for Drew to begin his graduate degree in worship ministries at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Drew received his B.S. in pastoral ministry from Campbellsville University. He has a passion to lead the congregation in musical worship that is rich in theological truth, that proclaims the gospel, and that glorifies Jesus Christ.

OUR DEACONS

Our church is deacon served. These men and women were affirmed by our congregation as having met the spiritual qualifications as outlined in 1 Timothy 3 and have been appointed to serve our church family over a variety of service oriented ministries.

Billy Booth

Deacon of Ushers and Security

Billy Booth grew up in a Christian home. At age 14 he realized he was not a Christian and accepted Christ as his personal savior and received believer’s baptism. After graduating from Louisiana Baptist College with a major in theology, his father encouraged him to attend the New Baptist Theological Seminary.  After one year at the Seminary, Billy realized, with the help of one of his professors, that pastoral ministry was not his calling.  He then became a New Orleans Police Officer because he had compassion for the victims of crime.  After 8½ years he moved on to become a Louisiana State Trooper.  He now has a retirement job as a Bomb Technician for the U.S Department of Homeland Security where he trains airport screeners to find bombs and bomb parts.  He is an active member of the Gideons and serves as secretary of the Gideons Kenner Camp.  He enjoys placing Bibles in the traffic lanes of life.  He and his wife Theresa have 4 children and 14 grandchildren.

Jim Smith

Deacon of Grounds and Upkeep

Jim Smith & his wife Gail came to SRCC after 38 years at FBC Kenner where Jim was an active deacon and Gail was a church secretary.  Jim was ordained Deacon in 1974 at FBC Thibodaux. Both Jim & Gail attended Nicholls State University. They are the parents of 3 grown children, a son, and 2 daughters. They are the grandparents of 2 grandsons and 8 granddaughters and are expecting twin granddaughters in September. Jim’s passion other than being a great husband, dad, and Pops is a life of service for Our Lord and his people.
