In the summer of 2015, First Baptist Church of St. Rose was struggling to reach the community. With only a few members remaining, they made the courageous decision to temporarily close the doors and donate the church property to First Baptist Church of Kenner in hopes of a new ministry being started in the community. FBC Kenner sent a small group of people led by Pastor Brandon Langley to St. Rose - officially launching what is now St. Rose Community Church.
This group began praying for the community of St. Rose for one hour each week over the course of several months. God faithfully began adding to their number day by day those who were being saved.
On Easter Sunday of 2016, St. Rose Community Church held its first Sunday morning worship service.
God continued in His faithfulness - and in August 2020, St. Rose Community Church voted in agreement to expand the building space to include classrooms for theological training and children's ministry, as well as an expanded foyer and bathrooms.
The addition was completed the following year... just in time for Hurricane Ida - a Category 4 storm - to roar through St. Rose and devastate most our community.
By God's grace, St. Rose Community Church was able to diligently serve the surrounding neighborhoods and be a light of Gospel hope.
Today, St. Rose Community Church is a thriving testimony of God's grace as He has continuously added to our number. Our prayer is that we will someday take part in planting more churches in other communities - wherever the Lord leads!
By His Grace, for His Glory.
